Fact-check & sources
Every factual claim on this portal was checked against its original source, and every code sample against the actual Cognite software. This page records what was checked, how, what was found, and what was corrected — so you can judge the material's authenticity yourself.
How the validation was done
1 · Sources re-fetched
Company facts, customer results and study figures were re-read on the publishing page (cognite.com newsroom, product and customer pages, Cognite Hub, docs.cognite.com, Wikipedia, press coverage) rather than from search snippets.
2 · Software introspected
The real packages were installed and inspected: cognite-sdk 7.94.2 and 8.16.1, cognite-extractor-utils 7.13.1, cognite-toolkit 0.8.66. 56 SDK classes/methods/parameters used in the course were checked programmatically; Toolkit commands were checked with cdf --help.
3 · Links & videos
All external links on the three level pages were requested (HTTP 200 expected); all 53 YouTube videos were checked through YouTube's oEmbed endpoint, which also confirmed title and channel.
4 · Corrections applied
Where a claim could not be sourced, was out of date, or a code sample did not match the installed software, the portal text was corrected on 15 Sep 2026. The table marks each as FIXED.

Known limitations — read before relying on the material
- Vendor-reported outcomes. ROI and customer percentages come from Cognite-commissioned studies and Cognite's own pages; they are presented as such and should not be quoted as independent audits.
- Snapshot in time. Verified 15 Sep 2026. CDF, the SDK (8.x), the Toolkit and Atlas AI change monthly; the Schneider Electric acquisition (pending) may change names and packaging. Re-check the docs' "What's new" before quoting specifics to a client.
- Code samples are illustrative. They use real class, method and parameter names verified against the versions stated, but they have not been executed against a live CDF project. Treat them as starting points, not drop-in scripts.
- Open discrepancy. Cognite's founding is dated October 2016 (incorporation) by Aker and Wikipedia and "2017" by Cognite's own 2026 release; the portal states both.
- Open Industrial Data licence is explicitly non-commercial; its use for academic publication was unresolved on Cognite Hub as of December 2025.
